About Us

From carefully crafted football sessions that people can just show up to, to expertly facilitated sessions for people in mental health services, to providing expert advice and guidance to teams and organisations, Creative Football changes people’s lives. We are proud to work in partnership with Together an Active Future (TaAF), Sport England and Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS.

From our home at the Witton Park 3G Facility in Blackburn, Lancashire, we use football in a positive way to engage people informally, anchoring the beautiful game at the heart of relationships to understand and help with wider needs. Everything we do is tailored to suit all types of individuals and services based on personal needs and ability.

Regardless of the reason someone needs us, we create an environment that is safe, fun, therapeutic and where everyone shares an ethos of respect, empathy and support. This approach creates a diverse network of support and friendships that many people haven’t experienced before.

In addition to its Football sessions, Creative Football offer a range of other activities including Cycling, Walking and Table Tennis. Away from physical activities, it also provides holistic 1:1 support around mental wellbeing, finances, housing, employment and education.

Shine Coaching

About Us

Shine Coaching is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that offers life coaching sessions to men in Lancashire over the age of 18 who experience anger issues.  We offer sessions over the phone to our clients, making it more accessible, whilst also reducing travelling costs for our clients.  As a CIC with limited funds, we can then spend more funding on client contact time, maximizing the resources we can devote to those who need it.  We have built relationships with community agencies who have direct and indirect (through partners, for example) contact with men.  We have received referrals through agencies but also direct referrals from men themselves.  Coaching works with where the person is now and where they would like to be.  We work with men to identify their goals around reducing anger, and often, their other identified goals cascade into reducing their anger too.  As an average, we offer between 6-8 sessions, but more can be negotiated. This flexibility is important to us.  We offer our sessions over the phone for various reasons; we know that men are more likely to access treatment if it’s easier to do so; life coaching as a profession has been the pioneer in over the phone work; to cut down on overheads; accessible and easy to set sessions and means we can reach people we wouldn’t usually be able to, including those who identify as agoraphobic.

We hold activities for social interaction and creative sessions to help encourage the learning of new skills and rekindling old hobbies.

There are weekly Coffee and Computer sessions to teach older people how to use digital devices and have a tablet loaning service with one-to-one support.

Volunteers make weekly contact with members through our Chatterbox project, a telephone befriending service.

We have an adapted wheelchair accessible vehicle to transport people in wheelchairs and members unable to drive or access public transport.

  3. We believe that making connections is key to wellbeing- 3 connections- in particular; connections with Nature, connection with community, and connection with ourselves.
  4. In order to help people boost their wellbeing we offer resources in 4 specialist areas; storytelling, nature art, nature activities and yoga and mindfulness.
  5. By engaging with We Be Kids children and families will be actively living the 5 ways to wellbeing: Get Active, Be Mindful, Think Community, Keep Learning and Practice Kindness.
