No Whispers aims to inform, educate, and empower adults about child sexual and criminal exploitation. Training and workshops emphasise the significance of recognising signs and indicators, early intervention, positive strategies, appropriate language, understanding victim blaming and the importance of safeguarding and reporting to prevent children and young people from becoming victims of exploitation and abuse.

HM Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, Mrs. Amanda Parker JP commented about No Whispers CIC Birthday event 2024, saying,

“I was delighted to attend the No Whispers anniversary celebration. The training that No Whispers provides helps organisations recognise the signs of exploitation and provides vital information in the fight against child exploitation and associated crimes. It was marvelous to see so many people and local businesses represented”.

ABOUT US

Community Futures is a registered charity (702233) and company limited by guarantee (333713). Our legal name, Community Council of Lancashire, was adopted over 40 years ago to enable us to become a Rural Community Council. This provides us with a unique role in supporting rural community life in Lancashire.

Most of the work we do is rooted in our very first actions as a support agency. Our initial hands on support for unemployed men and their families in Manchester, the flag ship Brentwood House Recuperation Home for Mothers (which also gave refuge to Jewish families fleeing Poland) and an abundance of self-help programmes in some of the most deprived communities in Lancashire all helped to build our credibility and reputation for the work we do today.

Not a lot has changed. We make organisations, individuals and communities better.

This can be better at what they do themselves or for others, but ultimately everything we do has this as a goal. We see evidence of our achievements all over Lancashire, from the community volunteer we supported to take on her own services, to the community that is thriving because we saved its Playgroup.
