ABOUT US

Growing Resilience is a self-awareness course that considers encountering conflict and stress in everyday life, as a certain inevitability. The programme shows the participants how to grow a mental health toolkit to become more resilient and be better able to cope with times of chaos and deal with conflict pro-actively, focussing on a positive future situation.

ABOUT US

Chaired by Lord Shuttleworth, we are an independent charity that uses its extensive, nationally significant collection of textiles and craft items to inspire and educate. Based at Gawthorpe Hall, we provide access to the collections via public exhibitions, study visits for students, researchers and specialist groups, as well as school visits, artist collaborations and commissions, workshops, demonstrations, talks and gallery tours. We deliver community outreach to support the wellbeing and skills development of local residents in Burnley through a textile studio within Valley Street Community Centre.

Rosemary and Time CIC delivers gardening related activity workshops, training courses and ongoing projects aimed at supporting both geographical communities and communities of interest. Our main focus has been people living with dementia and their carers, and those living in care homes and the activity co-ordinators that support them.

 

WAYS TO TRADE WITH THIS SOCIAL ENTERPRISE 

This social enterprise grows plants to sell at local events and farmer’s markets, creates wildlife habitats, including bird boxes, bug hotels and hedgehog homes for sale. They supply care homes with subsidised priced activity sessions and provide training for those wishing to learn more about gardening, they can also provide bespoke consultancy and training to organisations wishing to develop the skills of their staff.

Brew Me Sunshine is a Café situated within the old Visitor Newspaper building in Morecambe. The Café space is shared with the Galloway’s sight loss services team and creates a warm friendly approachable atmosphere for people to access and learn about the sight loss support offered by the charity. The profits from the café are donated back to the charity.

Brew Me Sunshine won our Work and Training Social Enterprise of the Year award in 2021.

 

WAYS TO TRADE WITH THIS SOCIAL ENTERPRISE 

The café is developing and growing with a view to creating employment opportunities for people with visual impairment. Revenue generated by the café supports this work.
