Instead of our profits going to shareholders, they are donated to the charity Newground Together and distributed in the form of grants to environmental and community projects, so by choosing Newground, our customers are helping to drive positive social and environmental change.
Newground is accredited to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 ensuring we deliver quality services in a safe and sustainable way. The Community Gateway Association is a not-for-profit Registered Social Landlord (RSL), set up to meet the housing needs of people in Preston & the surrounding areas.
We are a large-scale voluntary transfer organisation created by the transfer of Preston City Council’s 6,500 properties, on 28th November 2005.
We are regulated by the Tenant Services Authority (TSA) and are inspected by the Audit commission – our current rating is 2 star & promising prospects.
Our uniqueness centres on the fact that we were the first housing organisation based on the Community Gateway Model. The Gateway model is about putting tenants and residents at the heart of the organisation. The model requires us to write community empowerment into our rules.
Supporting this is a passionate and committed staff whose determination to deliver the best service has been recognised by the Audit Commission’s 2-star rating, the Investors in People Gold Standard accreditation and the Customer Service Excellence award.
Staff and tenants have developed a mutual respect and understanding which enables them to successfully work together and in partnership with other local stakeholders to deliver decent homes, decent environments and decent lives.
