Would you like to be part of a service that makes a real difference to Lancashire residents when they need it most?

Selnet is recruiting an Application & Pathway Coordinator to join our Inclusion Services team as we prepare to launch Lancashire County Council’s new Resilience & Essential Needs Support Scheme (RENSS) on 1 December 2026.

Selnet has been delivering essential-needs support across Lancashire since 2013, most recently through our successful Under One Roof service.

RENSS builds on that experience but takes the service further.

As well as helping Lancashire residents experiencing financial hardship or crisis to access essential support, the new service will have a much stronger focus on resilience – helping people address some of the circumstances contributing to their crisis and connecting them with support that can help them become more secure and independent.

About the role

As an Application & Pathway Coordinator, you will be an important part of the customer journey.

You will receive and review applications to the scheme, gather the information needed to understand each customer’s circumstances and establish their eligibility for support.

This isn’t simply about processing applications.

You will need to look at the person behind the application, understand what has brought them to the service and help identify the most appropriate pathway of support.

Depending upon individual circumstances, this could include access to essential household goods, food and utility support, digital devices and digital inclusion, as well as additional resilience support from our Keyworkers or referral to other services.

You will work closely with referral organisations, customers, Furniture Reuse Organisations, suppliers and your colleagues within the RENSS team to make sure applications are dealt with fairly, sensitively and efficiently.

You will also maintain accurate customer records using our CRM system and help ensure that customers receive a joined-up service from application through to the support they need.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is organised, compassionate, fair-minded and non-judgemental.

You will need to be comfortable working with information and evidence, following eligibility criteria and making sound decisions, while remembering that many of the people accessing the service may be experiencing very difficult circumstances.

You should have excellent communication and customer-service skills, good attention to detail and confidence using IT and database/CRM systems.

Experience of working with people experiencing financial hardship, vulnerability or crisis would be particularly valuable, although this may have been gained in a variety of settings.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who can combine good judgement and attention to detail with empathy and common sense.

Selnet is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcomes applications from people from all backgrounds.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check where appropriate to the role.

You will need to be able to:

  • ✔️  Review and progress applications accurately and efficiently.
  • ✔️  Understand individual circumstances and assess eligibility against agreed criteria.
  • ✔️  Communicate sensitively and professionally with customers and referral partners.
  • ✔️  Recognise when someone may need additional help and connect them with the appropriate support.
  • ✔️  Maintain accurate and confidential customer records.
  • ✔️  Work confidently with CRM and other digital systems.
  • ✔️  Manage a busy and sometimes demanding workload.
  • ✔️  Work independently while being an active and supportive member of the wider team.
  • ✔️  Treat every customer fairly, respectfully and without judgement.
