New Business Network Off to a Flying Start

Selnet are pleased to share this press release about a new initiative that is part of the Flying Start service for entrepreneurs, start-ups, new businesses and enterprises that have been running for under 3 years.

Thank you to Team Community CVS for this great opportunity now included in the Flying Start mix – with the next one scheduled for 7th November!

Community CVS, as part of the Boost Business Growth Hub initiative, has launched its new Flying Start Business Network Meetings, aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and business owners across Lancashire. Held on the first Tuesday of each month, these sessions will provide participants with valuable insights, expert advice, and networking opportunities to help them grow and scale their ventures.

In partnership with Selnet, this initiative brings together a network of local businesses, including both emerging and established entrepreneurs. The inaugural meeting, held on 1st October 2024, brought together business leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs from across the county.

Empowering Entrepreneurs with Knowledge and Connections

Each monthly session will feature guest speakers from the Lancashire business landscape and will be attended by Community CVS experienced Chartered Business Advisers. Participants will benefit from guidance on a wide range of business topics, including finance, legal advice, marketing, and innovation. The network provides a valuable space for local entrepreneurs to engage with industry leaders, share experiences, and explore partnership opportunities.

Speakers at the first meeting included notable business figures:

    • Mike Kenny, Associate Director of Innovation and Industry Partnerships at NHS
    • Alistair Clarke MBE, Flying Start Adviser and Entrepreneur
    • Emma Bolton, Founder of Bolton HR
    • Glen Duckett, Owner of Eat Grow Thrive

“The Flying Start Business Network provides a wonderful platform for business owners to exchange ideas and build connections. It’s inspiring to see such enthusiasm and collaboration within Lancashire’s entrepreneurial community”

Said Lynn Trickett – Flying Start Adviser
