Chaired by Lord Shuttleworth, we are an independent charity that uses its extensive, nationally significant collection of textiles and craft items to inspire and educate. Based at Gawthorpe Hall, we provide access to the collections via public exhibitions, study visits for students, researchers and specialist groups, as well as school visits, artist collaborations and commissions, workshops, demonstrations, talks and gallery tours. We deliver community outreach to support the wellbeing and skills development of local residents in Burnley through a textile studio within Valley Street Community Centre.
